The House

A Place to Call Home

Hospital Hospitality House provides a full range of conveniences designed to reduce day-to-day stresses so that patients may focus on recovery and families can concentrate on helping their loved one. Facilities include private guestrooms, kitchens and dining room, television lounges, a laundry room, a library, a chapel, an exercise room and the Day Rester’s Room.

Guest Rooms

HHH has over 100 guestrooms, each with a private bathroom. Each room is decorated individually to provide a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. Most rooms have two double beds. Handicap-equipped guestrooms are available for special needs guests.

Kitchens & Dining Room

Our spacious kitchens, where the refrigerator, freezer and pantry are always stocked by donations, provide guests the opportunity to prepare meals and snacks to their own liking and on their own time schedule. HHH kitchen is restricted for use by transplant patients only. Our large, bright dining room provides a relaxing environment where guests may enjoy their meals.

Television Rooms

The first floor family room is a great place to relax, meet other guests and share experiences. This comfortable room is equipped with a large screen television, a computer with internet connection to send and receive e-mail, and a full range of jigsaw puzzles and games. In addition, each floor of HHH has its own television lounge.

Library

Filled with a collection of over 3,000 leisure reading and reference books, the library includes a large selection of hardcover, paperback and audio books, and videotapes. Guests may borrow from the library during their stay. The library may also be used for small meetings or gatherings of guests.

Parlor

The parlor provides guests with a small quiet place in which to visit, read or talk with one of HHH’s Social Workers.

Laundry Room

A laundry room, open 24 hours a day, is available free of charge to all HHH guests. Laundry supplies are provided through donations.

Linens

Guests are provided with clean towels and linens as needed.

Telephones

Each guestroom is equipped with a phone to make and receive calls. Calls may be received 24 hours a day. Phones are equipped to record messages for individual guest rooms.

Chapel

The chapel is a non-denominational room where guests may go to spend a quiet, spiritual time. It serves as an excellent private meeting room when a guest’s clergy visits. The chapel is available 24 hours a day upon request.

Exercise Room

The exercise room, a perfect way to work through stress, is available to HHH guests 24 hours a day. It is equipped with a full range of exercise machines and with a television to help pass the time.

Day Rester Room

Furnished and decorated with support from the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation, the Day Rester Room provides a place to rest for Richmond area people who are undergoing procedures at area hospitals. Patients and their caregivers not requiring an overnight stay can relax in a comfortable and quiet room, away from the hospital.

The Hat Room

Oncology guests are welcome to select soft hats from the “The Hat Room” located on the seventh floor of Hospital Hospitality House. Guests who need a soft hat may contact the front desk for assistance. If you have new soft hats to donate, please call HHH at 804.828.6901 for assistance.
